The Onboard Maritime Student Terms and Conditions contain references to documents that set out our regulations and policies. You should read and understand these in advance of agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, as this is when you enter a formal contract with us.
1.1 These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) represent an agreement between Onboard Maritime Ltd (“us”, “we” or “our”) and you (“you” or “your”) for your time whilst studying with us. By joining our course, you accept these Terms and Conditions in full. If you have any questions or concerns about these Terms and Conditions, you should contact us by email at info@onboardmaritime.com before joining the course.
1.2 In addition to these Terms and Conditions, there are other regulations, policies and procedures which apply whilst studying with Onboard Maritime Ltd. Details of these are applicable at the time of accepting these Terms and Conditions, and the location of all documents can be found in the table below and will be emailed to you for reference.
It is your responsibility to read these carefully as they alongside the Terms and Conditions form the contract between us and you.
1.3 Along with these Terms and Conditions, you will receive a copy of our Privacy Policy for your review. By signing this document, you confirm your agreement with the Privacy Policy.
2.1 It is your responsibility to ensure that all information you provide us with is true, accurate and complete and that no key information has been omitted.
3.1 We shall:
3.1.1 deliver the programme with reasonable skill and by the description applied to the appropriate MCA or SQA Syllabus.
3.1.2 set out the academic requirements of the course for you.
3.2 You shall:
3.2.1 use all materials that the course has provided for you.
3.2.2 ensure you have access to a computer, internet connection, and any other related requirements that have been requested of you in advance.
4.1 You should contact info@onboardmaritime.com should you wish to submit a complaint against us.
You will comply with our LMS Code of Conduct throughout studying with us which is below:
5.1 You may:
5.1.1 access the course on our LMS using a web browser or the Onboard Maritime app.
5.1.2 download the downloadable material, save and view them on your computer or app, and print copies of them.
5.2 You must not:
5.2.1 edit, modify, adapt, or alter any material on our LMS, including course content.
5.2.2 publish, republish, sell, license, sub-license, rent, transfer, broadcast, distribute or redistribute any material on Onboard Maritime LMS including course content.
5.2.3 use any or any part of material on our LMS, including course content, in any way that is unlawful or in breach of any person’s legal rights under any applicable law, or in any way that is offensive, indecent, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable.
5.2.4 use any materials on our LMS for commercial purposes.
5.3 You must keep, and not delete or remove any copyright notices from course content including the downloadable material.
5.4 You must not authorise any third party to access any of our LMS or app data without prior agreement.
5.5 You may only use our LMS or app for your own personal learning and development purposes.
5.6 You must keep your login details and password confidential and notify us immediately if you become aware of any disclosed of your password.
5.7 Each user is responsible for the security and use of their username and password. You must not disclose your username or password to anyone else.
5.8 We have the right to disable any user login details or password at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of use.
5.9 You must adhere and comply with our login security process.
5.10 Individual login details and IP addresses are monitored.
6.1 Your data will form part of your candidate record. By entering into this contract with us, you are allowing us to hold and process your personal data. We will process your personal data in accordance with our Learner Data Management Agreement, mentioned in document named ‘Privacy Policy’. This document will be sent alongside these Terms and Conditions and can also be found on the Onboard Maritime website.
6.2 In compliance with GDPR, we inform you that video recordings of Zoom/web link calls for Chief Mates Unlimited or Master Mariner Unlimited courses will include participant faces and will be shared exclusively with other candidates enrolled in the same course co- hort. These recordings will be distributed via web links only to those registered on the course’s final day. Once these recordings are in the hands of the enrolled participants, we do not take responsibility for further distribution or sharing, but candidates should refer to section 5 of the Terms and Conditions.
6.3 For OOW Unlimited and EOOW Unlimited tutorials, recorded Zoom/web link calls will be stored online for a maximum period of 3 months. After this timeframe, they will be permanently removed from our LMS and app.
7.1 Each clause within these Terms and Conditions operates separately.
7.2 These are the terms of the contract between you and us. No other person should have any right to enforce any of the terms.
7.3 Access to the learning materials is for 12 months from the date of purchase and your account will be closed the day after you notify us of passing your exam if before the 12 months of access.
